Hotel Summary12 person accommodation.This spacious family home, built in the Victorian era, with an ambience to reflect its period, is situated in a quiet residential area half a mile from the centre of the spa town of Buxton, at the gateway to the Peak District National Park. Wellwood lodge is a large detached house offering accommodation for 12 in 6 bedrooms, plus up to two infants under 2 years. Up to 2 well behaved pets welcome. Weekly bookings run from Friday to Friday with short breaks available from Friday to Monday or midweek.We do not take weekend breaks for the main holiday periods except in the preceeding 3 months. There are delightful far reaching views. The house is on a hillside, with a terrace style garden at the rear with a small lawn and an outdoor sitting area. The roof of the double garage doubles as a patio. A path with handrail ascends from the pavement, (no steps). It is the ideal holiday base for the larger party, spacious, comfortable and well equipped. A particular delight is being able to walk into the countryside from the door, and yet Buxton's Victorian themed Pavillion gardens, spa water swimming pool, Opera house, shops restaurants and pubs are an easy 10 minute walk, making it the ideal location for families with older children seeking a little independence, as well as groups of adults seeking entertainment, without needing to use a car! The train station and bus stops to many peak district locations is a 10 minute walk. The Opera house hosts many fine shows, concerts and festivals, most notably the Opera and Gilbert and Sullivan festival in July and August. There are a variety of shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs in walking distance catering for the many tourists who come to see the spectacular sights of the area.
