Gidleigh Park is amongst the most highly rated small luxury hotels in England, and certainly the most highly rated in the South West. It is one of 21 members of Relais et Chateaux, an international association of 459 small privately owned hotels in 40 countries. The hotel has won many awards, e.g. Conde Nast Traveller Best Small European Hotel 1999, Caterer and Hotelkeeper Magazine Independent Hotel of the Year 1997, Egon Ronay Guide Hotel of the Year 1990. The house is set in 40 acres of magnificent and secluded gardens and woodland on the North Teign River, within Dartmoor National Park. Public rooms and bedrooms are individually furnished with antiques and fine English fabrics. There is a log fire burning every day of the year, and cut flowers brighten every room.
